3 Ways to Update Your Walls without Wallpaper

Want to freshen up your walls, but have a fear of wallpaper? Fear not friend, you are not alone. Whether your scared of seams, afraid of commitment of just want to do your own thing you can still make your walls look fresh to death WITHOUT wallpaper. Here are my top 3 ways to update your walls without wallpaper.

  1. Custom Millwork: This designer look has been around for decades but has made its way back into the spotlight as of late. There is no better way to dress up drab drywall than floor to ceiling trim. We prefer to keep things simple and design rectangular layouts that are to scale within the space. In grander spaces we like to add details like the dentil or egg & dart pattern shown below. If you are searching for a timeless way to refresh your space, picture moulding painted in a satin white is our fail safe solution.

2. Mirror, Mirror on the Walls: No, we aren’t talking just any mirror. We are talking more along the lines of a built in custom mirror. This is a great way to fill in a blank wall that just doesn’t call for artwork. We love using this trick as well to bounce light around an other wise dark space. Antiqued mirrors tiles are adhered to the wall and trimmed out to make these dining rooms below look one of a kind.

3. Hand Painted Murals: There is just something special about having an artist come into your space and create a truly custom look for your walls. We love collaborating with local artists to bring our vision to life. And the best part? Often times the artists interpretation is even better than what we’ve imagined! Creating custom murals is not as hard as you may think, all it takes is a few inspiration images, a color story and an open mind.
